Zina Garrison was just a kid when she wandered into a free tennis center in Houston—a kid who knew almost nothing about tennis! With Coach John Wilkerson’s guidance, she went on to become an Olympic Gold Medalist and winner of over 20 major doubles titles.
In a beautiful, full-circle moment, Garrison returned to Houston in 1992 and used some of her winnings to start a free program for at-risk youth alongside Coach Wilkerson: The Zina Garrison Tennis Academy.
Since then, ZGA has touched the lives of over 45,000 kids! The academy offers free, world-class tennis instruction to young people of all demographics, but their ultimate goal is to help young people get an education, and many ZGA alumni have attended college on tennis scholarships.
ZGA has been changing lives for over 25 years, and we are absolutely thrilled to announce that they are now part of the Tennis Locker family!
